So many things have changed in Tilburg since we first arrived 7 years ago, just before the start of the academic year in 2005. The Midi theater closed, opened and closed again. We went from having zero sushi restaurants to more than 5. Pieter Vreedeplein opened. But, the change that had the biggest effect on our lives must have been the start of TIC in 2008. (Ok maybe the birth of our daughter had a bigger effect on us, but more about that later.) I think I was one of the first University employees to sign up for TIC. (more…)

It has been a longer wait than anticipated, but the Tilburg International Primary School (TIPS) has received approval from theMinistry of Education in Den Haag to begin enrolling students! The official approval arrived on August 8th and Tilburg International Club (TIC) met with representatives of the International School Eindhoven (ISE), the Jan Ligthart Huibeven (JLH) and the city on September 6th to discuss (more…)
As with most international clubs, it is the nature of the member population that people come and go as their work and personal lives
change and grow. As such, we would love the opportunity to say a proper “goodbye” to anyone who may be leaving the club. If you are moving on, please do let us know so we can bid you a fond farewell (and take you off that pesky mailing list!;)

On September 26th, the club members met to discuss The Art of Fielding, by Chad Harbach, the summer read chosen at our last gathering in June. All found it an interesting book.
