The day started out with a big chance of rain but, like all the other Welcome Events before, the skies cleared and we had another fantastic day to celebrate the beginning of another tic season! After registration and a nice cup of coffee at de Spaarbank, the event officially kicked off with walking tours guided by Tilburg’s very own 013 Straatjes (small streets of Tilburg) and sponsored by tic partner BOM.
We divided into two groups and began meandering through the small, back streets of Tilburg while venturing into unique stores, cultural centers, sweet shops and local gathering spots – all locally owned and each with their own sense of
style on full display. We saw where young, aspiring artists come to 
create, sampled some delicious chocolate, wandered around in a specialty store and had a drink in a diverse, multicultural establishment. What a great way to explore the city!
After the tour, we ended back at de Spaarbank for games, socializing, drinks, snacks sponsored by Holland Expat Center South.
There were many new faces (which we love) and many familiar faces (which we also love). There was plenty to talk about and lots of people to meet.
Even though the event officially ended with our grand prize drawing of a gift certificate to de Spaarbank, sponsored every year by our long time partner P&D Care, new and old friends stayed long after to enjoy dinner, drinks and simply more fun on a Saturday!
