I don’t know about you, but sometimes it seems life is so busy and goes so fast that if you don’t slow down, you’ll miss it! I made a commitment to myself to take a step back and start enjoying more of the things I love doing. And one of those things is being the president of tic! With such a busy work schedule, I found myself passing on some of the fun activities the event team has been putting together. This club season, I decided to have more fun with my fellow club members while also taking more initiative to get the club increased exposure in the community.
As the events team becomes more settled in their role and we have Giorgio fitting in nicely as our new club Secretary, I’ve been able to take more meetings with our partners (often dragging Mala along with me!!) to ensure your club is well represented and that we broaden our scope to give you a wider range of opportunities to learn about housing, education and other pragmatic things that come along with being an expat.
What we also discovered is, that through our campaigning efforts, our member base is now split almost evenly between University memberships and individual memberships. Knowing that the club is evolving and becoming more diverse is a great accomplishment for us!
As you see us starting to share workshops and events from our partners and there is something you have been struggling to understand or a subject you would like more information about, please reach out and let us know. We will do our best to find a resource. While the practical stuff is great, that doesn’t mean the fun will stop! We have all kinds of things coming up on the agenda so be sure to check the website and social media sites often.
Let’s all take a step back from our busy lives to have a little fun and meet up at an event soon.
Take care,
Yolonda
