LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Our Game Night Experience
Last week’s game night with the Tilburg International Club was fun! I did not expect playing board games online can be so easy and enjoyable. Around nine households joined, and we played Code Names which I would describe as a combination of Skribbl.io (Pictionary game from our Holiday borrel) and Monopoly. It was some cross between buying property (like land) in Monopoly and trying to get as many cards (laid out on a board) as possible in Code Names.
It had a simple premise – two rival spymasters know the secret identities of 25 agents. Their teammates know the agents only by their codenames. To win the game, teams needed to contact all of their own agents in the field before the other team found all of their agents. And, as an additional twist, there was an assassin to watch out for. Meeting the assassin in the field meant your team automatically lost the whole match!
To discover the agents in the field, the spymasters could see “codenames” for those agents and give one word clues to the team to help them discover the real identities of the agents.
The team could talk to each other about which codenames they wanted to choose and then make a final guess on the screen
The real challenge was trying to ignore the other team’s heckling and misleading guesses to make the correct guess(es)!
In the end it was the red team that uncovered the identities of their secret agents and won their game.
It was a 10/10 Friday night!
