Where are we now?
In these strange times, I feel like I could have just done a “copy/paste” of my last president’s message. That is how much things have NOT changed. Like most of you, I continue working from home while struggling to find a way to balance mental and physical well-being while remaining productive for my family and my company. Although it looks like there might be some light at the end of the tunnel as vaccines slowly make their way to our most vulnerable, we still have a way to go before we will be able to venture out into society.
Fun Times
One bright spot for me has been the innovative spirit of the tíc board! Our usual Ugly Sweater Borrel still went forward – virtually but with merriment and a fiercely competitive game of Pictionary. Someone (who shall remain nameless – but you know who you are, lol) continuously kicked me out due to my horrendously bad drawings! Commitment to our Members
We have also held some informative online lectures, virtual coffee mornings and book club, game nights and even found a professional, virtual escape room. I am so impressed with the thought and time that have gone into these events, especially by Lily and Mala. They have tirelessly researched different activities, presented options in powerpoint presentations and facilitated lively debates with the board on which ones to choose and offer the most fun and best value.
Our commitment to our members remains strong and we will continue to look for and provide interesting and fun online activities to keep you socially engaged. I hope that you can join us for some upcoming events and keep connected. As we all continue to find our way during lockdowns, curfews and protests, I hope that you and your family remain healthy, happy and looking forward to the brighter days that will surely come soon.
