If human ingenuity has no limits, that of the tíc Events Team manages to exceed even that. In the midst of a pandemic, which qualifies pre-eminently as force majeure, no one would have blamed the team if they had shelved their efforts and waited for more propitious times. But no, on they soldiered, even when their numbers were reduced owing to a crop of adorable babies. Mazeltov!
Expanding our virtual world
Indomitable, they grabbed the virtual world by the horns and ran with it. Virtual parties with Netflix and boardgames, then with goodies delivered to the door, same with a virtual beer tasting session, and the Book Club zoomed on regardless and for those starved of human company the Morning Mug was born.
Starting our morning with Morning Mug
Just for a little half hour once a week, those who wished could click on a link and find themselves among both familiar and new faces and proceed to shoot the breeze on anything and everything. So in the the snow we learned that
- Mala was once pretty good on skates,
- the Elfstedentocht is quite fun even if you don’t skate and just follow the itinerary by car,
+ it is quite possible to cook everything in an Air-Fryer,
+ meat concocted in a lab may not be the panacea we hoped, - the Dutch are welcoming/and not welcoming,
- a vegan lifestyle is wonderfully easy and delicious if you solve the Vit B12 problem, and
+ no hairdressers was the worst part of the pandemic.
So let’s raise a mug to the next tíc Morning Mug on March 9th !
