10.09.2022. Every year you will realize with great surprise that the summer holidays are finally over, when there is a new TIC Welcome Event. A great chance to meet old and make new friends, to familiarize with the Tilburg community and to learn about the upcoming activities that are planned for the new club year.
Meet & Greet
So, holidays this year were over on September 10, when everybody was invited to the Dadawan restaurant – “Everybody” then meant about 50 members, including the potential ones.
The Annual General Meeting
The formal part hosted by acting president Yolonda van Riel was rather short – some organizational information, personal introduction of the board members, a compact commercial overview of the financial health of the club – and even some history. Easy to follow and interesting to learn a bit about the TIC background and activities, this was accompanied by free drinks and finger food – so, really worth to join!
Pub Quiz!
Personal highlight for a competitive smart alec like me was – as every year – the following pub quiz, where we could show in groups our shortcomings in local history and context. 
Since my team did not win (followed by a long debate over potential reasons and the commitment to prep better for next year), there is not much more to say – except the great prize of the lottery in the end went to Kerry Forrester, a voucher for the Nacho Bar Tilburg to keep this entertaining Welcome Event 2022 in mind.
