Review by Jessica Lipe. We met up for the opening evening for the 4-day Hap Stap Festival in Tilburg. This year was the 23rd year of Hap Stap and 16 local restaurants offered a sampling of their menu. Our group tried all kinds of delicious food, like samosa, ribs, shrimp and saffron risotto, and tuna. It was a great way to discover restaurants worth checking out in Tilburg. With new and old faces present, it was a pleasant evening spent chatting and tasting in the garden of Interpolis downtown.

President’s message – May 2019
Spring is in the air! As the flowers begin to bloom and daylight stays with us into the evening hours, everyone just seems to be in better spirits. Although the club year will soon be coming to a close, there are still lots of things on the calendar to enjoy.
Your Events Team has done an outstanding job in their first season of bringing new, exciting things to the club calendar. And coming up, we have the ever-popular Pub Quiz to accompany our AGM, a gathering at the Tilburg Hap Stap Festival at the Interpolis, our annual tícnic, plus a sponsorship walking event, Nacht van de Vluchtelingen, to help refugees.
I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at an event soon to hear about you upcoming plans for the summer. So, let’s get some fresh air and have some club fun together before the lazy days of summer arrive!!
Cheers,
Yolonda

President’s message
Spring is in the air! As the warm weather (hopefully!) approaches, most of us begin to slowly come out of hibernation and our thoughts turn to getting out and having some fun. So … take a big stretch and shake off the winter cobwebs because TIC has lots of events in store for you before the club season ends! There are borrels, books and bowling activities just to name a few. And, of course, one of the high points of the season … the annual TICnic.
Your board is also hard at work planning our Welcome Event where we will celebrate our 10-year anniversary after the summer break. We are also making a few changes to the board and will soon be introducing our “Event Team”. By utilizing a small team, the workload can be spread more evenly which results in more exciting events for you to enjoy. Break out the sunglasses and join us for the many things we have planned. Don’t forget to check the website for updates and newly added events!
Cheers,
Yolonda

#TBT: TIC at the Tilburg Hap Stap Festival 2017
Tomorrow we’ll meet up again at the Hap Stap Festival. In honor of Throwback Thursday, here’s a look back at the TIC experience from last year!

The weather was perfect for an evening of munching and kletzen at the 22nd annual Hap Stap Festival. Sixteen local restaurants showed off their best tapas-style dishes and the tempting aromas of gourmet dining blanketed the revelers. The event was was made up of dozens of tents dotted throughout the Interpolis’ courtyard (near the Spoorlaan). TIC’s own crafty Corey secured the perfect cozy table right in the middle of the action and attendees sampled dishes such as fish and chips, steaks, burgers, friets and more.
Like every Tilburg International Club Borrel, the first drink was provided by the club and iced Schrobbeler with lime was the drink of choice for several attendees. Many club members danced to the 1960’s R&B sounds of the live band The Motown Marbles. The summer daylight extended to 10pm and the group enjoyed the lekker weer until the late evening.

April TIC President’s message
Spring is the air! Everywhere you look, terraces are full, flowers are blooming and the sun is shining. TIC’s agenda has also been full with lots of fun activities like football matches, borrels (happy hour) and cultural theatre performances. As everyone sheds their winter coats and looks forward to the warmer weather, your TIC board is busy planning lots of things for you to enjoy. We have some outdoor activities coming up that will get you out into the sunshine and enjoying spring. Activities like touring a cheese farm, biking to the Schrobbeler factory and a borrel at the outdoor event Hap Stap. So let’s shed the winter blues together and enjoy getting outside!
The board is working hard to provide you with diverse activities in the hope that everyone can find something on the agenda to enjoy. If you would like to volunteer your services, we are currently looking to fill the position of Treasurer. Contact any board member for more information. We would love to have you!
Warm regards,
Yolonda
