tíc at Hap Stap, rain or shine!

12 jun 2019. Despite the showers early on in the evening, tíc members ventured out for an evening of munching and chatting at the annual Tilburg Hap Stap Festival. Sixteen local restaurants showed off their best tapas-style dishes as tempting aromas drew in the masses. The event was made up of dozens of tents dotted throughout the Interpolis’ courtyard 
(near the Spoorlaan). tíc secured a table under the tents of De Carpacciobar. Attendees sampled dishes such as fish and chips, steaks, burgers, sweet potato fries and more.
Coincidentally, the Mayor of Tilburg, Theo Weterings also chose to stop by De Carpacciobar and said a happy and welcoming hello to tíc. Nostalgically, the Mayor and our tíc president, Yolonda van Riel, recreated their 2018 Welcome to Tilburg event portrait.
Like every tilburg international club borrel, the first drink was provided by the club. Club members enjoyed their beverages along with the free samples of Schrobbeler being passed out to all event attendees. tíc members hung out together well past the official borrel time and continued to have a great time in the cool summer evening.

Our Welcome to Tilburg event last Saturday was a very fun and delicious way to spend the afternoon. With bites to eat, drinks to test and competitions to win, it was an exciting, yet relaxed way for expats to explore the city and get to know one another better. 2018 Welcome to Tilburg Event a smashing success!

the tilburg international club (tíc) organised a very special and fun-filled Welcome to Tilburg event on 8 September 2018 for internationals in and around Tilburg to celebrate its 10-year Anniversary!
Over 100 expats joined in for a fabulous afternoon starting at the Mercure with bubbles and Tilburgse bossche bol. tíc president, Yolonda van Riel, gave everyone a warm welcome and underscored tíc‘s initiative to support internationals in better understanding the people and culture of the Netherlands as well as to provide a relaxed social atmosphere for meeting new people from around the world. We were very fortunate to be invited to the City Hall in Tilburg for our May meeting, which was also our AGM. The Mayor recognizes the important contributions provided by expats in the companies in and around Tilburg and welcomed us to the VIP lounge on the top floor of the city hall.

Delicious snacks and a variety of drinks were provided and after the Mayor’s warm words of welcome, there was time for visiting together before we had a tour of the City Hall.
