President’s message – May 2019
Spring is in the air! As the flowers begin to bloom and daylight stays with us into the evening hours, everyone just seems to be in better spirits. Although the club year will soon be coming to a close, there are still lots of things on the calendar to enjoy.
Your Events Team has done an outstanding job in their first season of bringing new, exciting things to the club calendar. And coming up, we have the ever-popular Pub Quiz to accompany our AGM, a gathering at the Tilburg Hap Stap Festival at the Interpolis, our annual tícnic, plus a sponsorship walking event, Nacht van de Vluchtelingen, to help refugees.
I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at an event soon to hear about you upcoming plans for the summer. So, let’s get some fresh air and have some club fun together before the lazy days of summer arrive!!

Pub Quiz at the Esplanade

This year we had another rousing pub quiz at the Grand Café Esplanade, that once again sparked the competitive streaks amongst our stalwart TIC members. A group of hard core TIC members met at the grounds of Tilburg University to battle out the chance to be crowned the Winners of The Pub Quiz. Presented by Yolonda, the questions were challenging and informative under various international categories.
Mock fights, allegations of cheating and most of all laughter rang through the night. As usual, the drinks and snacks provided helped to calm even the most ardent pub quiz participants.
At the end of the night Estela, Tanya, Anita, Mike and Mala were crowned the Winners of The Pub Quiz and presented with a prize. Also lucky were the table that were crowned the Losers of The Pub Quiz as they were also presented with a small prize.
