Not sure what to do with the kids during the Christmas break? Take them to one of the hundreds of unique, kid-friendly, inspiring and fun museums in the Netherlands!
Did you know that you can gain entrance often at a reduced price or for free with the Museumkaart?
The Museumkaart program has been running since 1981 and now has over 1 million card holders.
Currently you can see highlighted museums that have special programs running just for kids on THIS page (Dutch only). Three well-known museums in Tilburg that are always great for the kids are De Pont, De Textielmuseum and De Natuurmuseum. With the Museumkaart, you can get in free to all three!
|The Museumkaart (museum card) is an annual membership card available to (temporary or permanent) Dutch residents which gives unlimited free entry to approximately 400 museums in the Netherlands – including 38 museums in Amsterdam.|
I moved to the Netherlands in April 2017. I’m originally from a small town near Santiago in Chili which, compared to any other city here, is not that small! I grew up my whole life in the same place, going for holidays to the same place as well until I felt I wanted and needed to see the world. That’s when I decided to go and study some of my university course in Canada, as an exchange student for a semester. I met amazing people from everywhere around the world and made good friends, but I also met an incredible Dutch man who is the reason why I’m currently living in Tilburg. (more…)

26 Nov 2019. Have you ever had fresh, warm worstenbrood, a Tilburg speciality?Better yet, have you ever made them? A lucky 8 of us did on Tuesday at
De Smaeck Bakkerij in Berkol-Enschot.
Although probably not something you’d make at home, we had a great time
putting them together with the professionals at the bakery!
I arrived in the Netherlands in August 2012. It was a sunny day at the train station in Rotterdam. I am French and was supposed to stay for 1 year of study and then go back home. Well, as you might have guessed it already it didn’t go as planned because I am still here!
I just fell in love with the country and its culture. There was something about the Netherlands that made me feel better than in my own country. So, after 1 year of study in Rotterdam, I decided to give it a shot and stay an extra year. I moved to Tilburg in 2013 to study at Tilburg University. I went afterwards to work catching all opportunities, so I could start my career before going back to France. It went so well that I decided to stay and later on to go to Dutch class to integrate better in my new country. There I met other internationals like me, who introduced me to the club. I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to be part of this club. It really helped me to find my place.
I like challenges, so I went for the event team with my friend Jessica and I can say that it was worth it. Actually the full experience of travelling and establishing myself in another country was worth it.
