The Midnight Library

On the 23rd  of January we had our first Book Club of the year. Although January can be a cold and gray time of the year here in the Netherlands, the chosen book, The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, was an easy read, bringing hope and light to the new year. It was the story of Nora Seed, a woman who is given the opportunity to experience different lives she might have had if she had made different choices. While at times the story line felt slightly predictable, it was filled with nuggets of wisdom about being aware of the life you have and the opportunities your own life brings.

Over snacks and numerous cups of tea, the group had a good discussion about the book, bringing up areas of the book that were enjoyed and others that felt slightly obvious but still had good learning moments. With over 10 of us attending the book club, different perspectives were shared, with everyone contributing to a great night.
