The 17th October was the night of “The Teacher’s Lounge” at Cinecitta’, a feature film by the German-Turkish director İlker Çatak.
A story about an idealistic teacher, interpreted by Leonie Benesch, who involuntarily started a teacher/student conflict in the school in the name of honesty and justice. This conflict is the main topic of the whole movie, where the director try to depict continuously a disorientating and anxious atmosphere with the help of a minimalistic soundtrack. Unluckly the movie never reaches a true climax and ended in an almost flat way.
Nevertheless it was a sliding movie and a good starting point to talk about cinema, integration and stereotypes along our western cultures in the bar of Cinecitta’, while drinking a good old beer.
